Joycelyn (Joyce) Ovalle

Joycelyn (Joyce) Ovalle is a PhD candidate in Public Policy at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs, University of Texas at Austin. Her dissertation draws on third-sector grantmaking theory to examine environmental funding flows through network dynamics and nonprofit organizational attributes. Prior to pursuing doctoral studies, her professional experiences included roles at the Urban Institute's Center on Nonprofits and Philanthropy, research positions at Texas A&M University, and contributions to the public sector with the U.S. Department of Energy. Her research has recently been published in PLOS ONE and Nonprofit Policy Forum.
