Nara Yoon
Nara Yoon received her Ph.D. in Public Administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University and is currently an Assistant Professor in the School of Strategic Leadership Studies at the College of Business, James Madison University. Dr. Yoon’s primary research areas include organizational governance in public and nonprofit management. Her research draws on organizational theory and behavior to examine managerial leadership issues in the public, nonprofit, and corporate sectors. Specifically, her primary research focuses on board governance and collaborative governance. She also conducts collaborative research on volunteer management. Her work has been published in premier journals including Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, American Review of Public Administration, Review of Public Personnel Administration, Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly, Nonprofit Management & Leadership, Public Performance & Management Review, and Policy & Internet. Her research has garnered awards from Academy of Management, Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action, and American Society for Public Administration. Prior to joining academia, she worked as a research analyst for social enterprise and nonprofit organizations.
